The SEVESEO international consortium and ESA have organized an international event where industrial emergency managers, local and regional emergency planners, fire man, local and regional authorities, chemical industries and environmental organizations have participated. The SEVESEO event took place  on the First of December 2009 in Berchem, nearby Antwerp.

The event included a morning session with invited speakers on the topic of chemical disaster management followed by a lunch and an afternoon session during which participants werel able to test the existing SEVESEO information system. The day has been concluded with a plenary discussion and evaluation session.
